Father threatens mother with revenge porn in child custody case

All family court judges strictly prohibit the parents from engaging in vindictive personal attacks or extortionist tactics to gain advantage in a child custody fight. This is even more true where the child or children may be potentially exposed to the recriminatory accusations. In Georgia and everywhere else, a parent involved in a child custody contest can benefit only by a position of good faith transparency, and a tunnel-vision focus solely on the best interest of the child.

Child custody judges also universally prohibit the related practice of parental manipulation of the children in vying for an advantage in the custody case. One surefire way to guarantee losing a child custody contest is to be exposed as using underhanded tactics known to be harmful to children. The strength of character and integrity of a parent is generally going to come out during the intensive testimony and detailed evidence generally involved in a custody case.

One parent who is clearly doing it the wrong way was arrested by authorities in Chicago recently. He was allegedly caught trying to essentially blackmail his ex-girlfriend by threatening to send nude photos of her in order to gain advantage in their child custody case. He is accused of sending a letter to her containing photos of her nude from the waist down. He allegedly threatened to send the photos to the parents of her new fiance, according to police.

This alleged attempt to intimidate and frighten the woman resulted in the man's arrest by police at his home. The authorities charged him with misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and obscenity. However, based on the generally acceptable definitions of those two crimes, it may be difficult to convict under these facts. Considering the paramount needs of children suffer the harrowing circumstances of a custody case, it may be that stricter legislation is now needed both in Georgia and other states.
